Time & Attendance system helps fight truancy in Bristol’s Clifton College
Time and Attendance South West’s world-class web enabled Time & Attendance and Integrated Security Management Systems are helping schools tackle truancy. About 67,000 school pupils are missing lessons every day, according to the latest government statistics published. Truancy, which is defined as absences unauthorised by teachers, is up four per cent compared to the previous year.
Clifton College, situated in Bristol, Avon, is an independent boarding and day school for girls and boys. Its three schools, Butcombe, Prep and Upper, provide day care and schooling for pupils aged 3-18. The Upper School alone has 700 pupils. Clifton had installed a WinTANet system, which combines the requirements of time and attendance, access control, visitor control and badge identification. The Smart Card and biometrics electronics and software within the equipment create the ultimate time management and security system.
The system is easy to use, which is ideal for hundreds of pupils swarming through the gates. WinTAnet, uses our range of Smart Cards where the badge or fob does not have to be removed from a pupil’s dinner-money wallet or purse to be read. This is up to 15 times faster than swipe systems and far more reliable.
WinTAnet is fully scalable, from a small single school to a large conurbation of schools within a local authority area. It is cost-effective for schools with 10 to 10,000 pupils and staff.
