A man has admitted violent disorder during protests in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol when a recently-opened Tesco Express was damaged. Bristol magistrates heard how 32-year-old Stephen Farthing set a car alight and threw missiles at police. Farthing, a resident of Stokes Croft, was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday, May 17. A statement from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said nine people had been charged with offences relating to violent disorder.
