The building programme complements the district council run facilities at the bus station and in South Street and the Bridport Town Council run toilets in the refurbished town hall. Planning permission for the new toilets in South Street was granted in July 2011. The new facilities mean the district council will continue to pay for the operation of two toilets in Bridport.

Generous revenues can be generated from turnstiles supplied by Time and Attendance South West designed to grant controlled access to toilets. The money raised from coin entry enables public conveniences to be kept to a good standard, with the added benefit of preventing people from wandering into the toilets as they now have to pay for the privilege. The separate coin box can be mounted either in front of the turnstile, at the side or wall mounted with the cash box at the rear.
