The 24-hour action meant there was no deliveries by south Bristol postal workers at the depot in Mead Street, Bedminster, which serves properties in the BS4 (Knowle) and BS14 (Hengrove) postcode areas, between 00:01 and 23.59 on Monday (December 17). Bristol union area official David Wilshire said there would be no further strikes before Christmas. He added: “We’re going to have a period of calm after today, a period of reflection.”

Web enabled, mobile and wireless technology from Time & Attendance South West enables employers to keep track of where their workforce is. As well as absenteeism and lateness reporting, Email, SMS or speech notifications and alerts stem from an Online Self Service module. This module allows staff to check hours, request leave and other functions via internet, mobile or other communications. The automated multi-lingual voice communications are all part of our proactive system that keeps managers abreast of events.
