Aldi set to redevelop former prison site into supermarket and student flats
Supermarket chain Aldi has put forward plans to redevelop the site of a former Plymouth prison into a retail unit and student flats, a move that will also create 11 full time and 22 part time jobs.
Set on the site of the former Greenbank Prison, the scheme would involve the demolition of the existing former laundry, which was built in the 1900s and rebuilt after World War II, and the conversion of the grade II-listed former Greenbank Prison.
Under the terms of the planning proposal, the central block, south wing and annexe is to be developed into 66 self-contained student flats. The rest of the space will be taken up by a 15,000 sq ft new-build Aldi store.
Quite obviously, beside the retail jobs, this development, should it ultimately get the green light, will also involve a very serious construction effort, featuring a large number of contractors, and that’s specifically where Time & Attendance South West could help.
Residential developers who typically deal with a large number of contractors should implement a very solid and reliable time and attendance system, and Time & Attendance South West offers the necessary expertise to provide customers with a complete and comprehensive bespoke solution, that will perfectly fit their requirements.
