Private sector growth in the South West slows down, is still going strong
The Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking South West Business Activity Index revealed that the private sector across the South West continued to expand in April, despite the rate of growth slowing down to a 10-month low.
The value of the index for April was set at 57.8 in April, down from 58.8 in March, but still signalling a sharp increase in activity. Unfortunately, this value is the lowest in 10 months, a news report in the local business media could reveal.
Figures obtained from the report point out that growth was predominantly driven by manufacturers, with new order growth remaining sharp overall and was broadly in line with the UK private sector economy average.
Staffing levels in the South West private sector increased again in April, with the rate of job creation accelerating from March.
