BT set to recruit 200 new engineers in the South West region

One of the UK’s largest telecom companies has just announced plans to recruit up to 200 new engineers in the South West, as a part of a major initiative to improve customer service and extend network coverage.

BT hopes that the new staff intake would help it bring high-speed fibre broadband to more parts of the country. The move forms parts of a wider push by BT to recruit 1,600 engineers across the UK, a news report on the matter could reveal.

Jon Reynolds, BT’s South West regional director, said: "BT is leading the economic recovery of the South West as one of the region’s largest investors.

"Not only are we building a superfast broadband network, which is giving a major boost to the region’s households and businesses, we are creating highly skilled local jobs offering exciting careers, such as those announced today."
