Jobs saved as vehicle parts distributor branches get snapped up by rival

Over 20 jobs have been saved in the South West after three branches of a vehicle parts distributor that collapsed last month were bought by one of its competitors, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

Unipart Automotive collapsed back in July and more than 150 staff in the region were made redundant at the time. At the time, rival distributor Parts Alliance acquired 12 branches.

Now, the company purchased three more sites in Chard, Frome and Plymouth, saving 24 jobs in the process.
