Plasterboard manufacturer to hire more staff after securing new business contracts

A Bristol-based plasterboard manufacturer has revealed plans to add 28 new staff following a series of new business wins, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

Siniat currently employs 410 workers, but will soon find itself in need of more after securing a contract with Interserve to deliver on five new schools, as well as a range of different other projects, including a £1m project with Galliard Homes to deliver fire retardant plasterboard to a new development on the Isle of Dogs in London, and a partnership with McLaren to support Banbury Gateway, a new £80m out-of-town shopping centre near Oxford.

Siniat will also work with Willmott Dixon on a £45m redevelopment of Beneden Hospital in Maidstone and a new 1,000 pupil ‘super school’ in Ceredigion.

Neil Ash, managing director at Siniat, said: "We’ve secured an enormous amount of new business already this year thanks to the quality of our products, and our proactive approach to solving our customer’s problems. This trend is likely to continue, with healthy growth expected in UK construction this year.
