Retailer to create up to 250 jobs in Cheltenham

One of the UK’s largest and best-know retail chain is set to create 250 new jobs in Cheltenham after opening a new department store in the area, a news report can reveal.

John Lewis alongside BlackRock and Cheltenham Borough Council, will transform the Beechwood shopping centre in Cheltenham into a new outlet.

The store will offer more than 115,000 sq ft of space across two floors and is a part of an investment totalling more than £30m.

"Cheltenham has long been a sought-after location for us and we’re delighted to be able to expand our reach to customers across the region for the first time," said Tim Harrison, director of store development at John Lewis.

"This new shop will provide more convenient access to our inspiring products and great service, and we’re looking forward to becoming part of the local community."
