Major 2,000 home development scheme near Taunton set for approval

A major development scheme that will see up to 2,000 new homes being built near Taunton is set for approval, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The scheme, located on land at Comeytrowe/Trull, forms part of a mixed-use urban extension of the town, and will include the construction of up to 2,000 homes and a new primary school on a 292-acre site.

Plans include 13 acres of employment land featuring space for offices, research and development facilities, light and general industry, and warehousing. A link road connecting the A38 and Honiton Road is also proposed along with a 300-space park and ride.

It is estimated that the development could create more than 800 jobs.
