Jobs saved as electronics manufacturer is bought out of administration

More than 30 jobs have been secured after a Poole-based electronics manufacturer has been purchased out of administration, a news report in the local business media has been able to find.

South Wessex Electronics is an electronics manufacturer specialising in electronic manufacturing services (EMS), including printed circuit board assembly that serves industries including oil and gas, medical and military.

BDO business restructuring partners Simon Girling and Danny Dartnaill were appointed joint administrators of South Wessex Electronics Ltd on 17 March 2016.

After marketing the business, a sale of the business and assets of the company was agreed to Surface Electronics Ltd, preserving 34 jobs.

Simon Girling, BDO business restructuring partner, added: "We are pleased to have concluded the sale of the business and assets of the Company, preserving 34 jobs.

"The company had suffered from recent cash flow issues and the sale was the best option to secure the future of the business, enabling it to move forward on a more secure financial footing."
