Weymouth residential development plans set for approval
Plans for building a new residential development scheme featuring around 340 homes on a new site in Weymouth are likely to take a step forward after councillors recommended to approve the scheme at a meeting later this week, a recent news report has been able to suggest.
The 40.2-acre site earmarked for the development is predominantly used as farmland and is located close to the Broadwey area of Weymouth.
A total of 340 homes would be built while 35 per cent of the properties would be set aside for affordable housing. A large area of public parkland would also be included in the centre of the site.
The new development would link to Nottington Lane at two separate points, with a further access proposed off Dorchester Road.
A contribution of £950 per property will be made towards improvements to the Redlands Sports Hub and £452 per property to Weymouth Swimming Pool works. Funding will also go towards a series of projects at nearby schools.
The plans will be considered at a meeting of Weymouth & Portland Borough Council’s planning committee on 6 July 2016.
Councillors are recommended to approve the scheme subject to conditions including a Section 106 order that would secure the affordable housing and financial contributions.
A development of this size is likely to involve numerous contractors working on the site, so companies that decide to get involved should also consider the implementation of a solid and reliable workforce management system, and this is exactly where Time & Attendance South West can help.
