Time and attendance systems can come in handy when multiple new jobs are set to be created
Time and attendance systems are a must for any company planning to create a relatively large number of jobs within a limited time frame, as is the case with the new anchor tenant that is set to create more than 80 jobs at Brixham Laboratory in Plymouth.
The planned job creation will be led by Scymaris, a new company that has relaunched the former Astra Zeneca Brixham Environmental Laboratory, situated at Freshwater Quarry in Brixham.
The company becomes the anchor tenant at the facility, which provides environmental laboratory testing services to the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and chemical industries. The campus, which is owned by Plymouth University, is also currently home to a further 25 businesses.
Torbay Council is supporting Scymaris using funding from the Torbay Growth Fund and the company is also backed by the Torbay Development Agency (TDA), Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the Department for International Trade.
Professor Simon Payne, deputy vice-chancellor of Plymouth University, said: "The agreement with Scymaris is an important milestone in our plans to reinvigorate Brixham Laboratory. A world class facility, we want it to become a hub of excellence and expertise that complements our existing reputation as global leader in marine and maritime research.
"Having an ambitious anchor tenant with such strong regional connections will help us to deliver on those goals, creating highly-skilled jobs that will underpin sustainable growth."
