87 new homes and community facilities set to be built in Somerset

Taunton Deane Borough Council has decided to join forces with Knightstone Housing Association for the development of 87 homes and community facilities in Somerset, a news report in the local business media has recently revealed.

Under the existing development plans, he local authority would retain part of the site in order to construct 57 new homes. It would transfer the remainder of the site to Knightstone to deliver a further 30 properties.

Taunton Deane Borough Council intends to borrow £7.7m to invest in the project while Knightstone would provide a further £4m with support from the Homes and Communities Agency.

The proposal involves demolishing the existing block of flats on the site and replacing it with a four-storey block of flats, family houses, a play area and potentially a community hub.
