Cornwall leisure operator creates new jobs after opening new Aqua Park

A leisure operator in Cornwall will create up to 16 new jobs after investing in a new Aqua Park, a news report in the local media has found.

The Retallack Resort and Spa near Padstow has invested in a new Total Wipeout-style course that will be ready for the Easter Holidays, opening on the 25 March for guests and locals.

It adds to the resort’s three other outdoor water-based experiences; the FlowRider surf simulator, 2.0 cable system wake boarding and kayaking.

First aid and open water lifeguarding training has been organised to all the new recruits, providing them with all the right qualifications and experience.

Darren Squires, from South West First Aid Training, said: "The team had limited first aid or open water lifeguarding training, so they were really thrown in at the deep end so to speak.

"After an intense six day course, consisting of four separate assessments, everyone has passed and are now ready for the last stage of onsite training once the equipment is installed."
