Developer secures planning permission for building 70 new homes in Swindon

A residential developer has managed to obtain planning permission for building 70 new homes on the site of a former office development in Swindon, a news report in the local business media can reveal.

Bellway Homes will build the new two-, three- and four-bedroom properties on the former Westlea Campus site, with the wider development plans also including a supermarket.

It is the second development in Swindon for Bellway’s newly launched South West division, with work underway at Liberty Park, a development of 152 homes on the former site of Headlands School.

Bellway sales manager Tim Lund said: "This development will breathe new life into land which has been disused for quite some time and help to address the need for more homes in Swindon.

"The homes at this development will cater for a range of needs, from those looking to buy their first home to families seeking more space."
