Plans approved for industrial scheme in Plymouth

Plans for building a new industrial development on vacant scrubland in Plymouth have been given the green light by the local authority, a news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

The plot on land to the east of Bell Close, on the north western edge of Newnham Industrial Estate, has been earmarked for the scheme.

It will comprise four separate industrial buildings containing eight units. It will provide a gross external area of 16,759 sq ft.

While planning officers recognised the scheme would be built on green land, they said the applicant is "offering sufficient mitigation".

"The development will positively contribute to an established industrial area, offering new job opportunities and high quality employment floorspace for new businesses or those looking to expand or relocate," they added.

"Appropriate conditions will ensure the development delivers quality landscaping and the impacts of the development will be suitably managed."
