Residential property developer Taylor Wimpey has submitted plans to Bournemouth Borough Council to create a restaurant, 78 apartments, nine holiday-letting apartments, 90 basement parking spaces and associated cycle storage as part of the Bournemouth International Hotel and Ocean Palace redevelopment, a news report in the local media has revealed.

The planning application said: "The site at 6-10 Priory Road represents a unique opportunity to revitalise a key site close to Bournemouth town centre. With superb sea views, good local connections and a desirable location, we have endeavoured to produce a design that ultimately becomes a great place to live, engages with the surroundings whilst also responding to the local context.

"Balancing the requirements of stakeholders, the result is a simple, crisp and clean proposal that blends architecture, landscape and urban design together. It meets with the objective of optimum efficiency and viability of the site which is currently out of use and is an opportunity to breathe life back into the site.

"The development also brings wider benefits for the local area. The provision of new homes, Section 106 contributions to local facilities and infrastructure are all important in addition to increased revenue from council tax and a financial bonus to the local economy for the new residents."
