Subsea technology firm to expand workforce following cash injection

A company specializing in the design and engineering of a range of specialist equipment including deep-water deployment systems and pipeline repair services for use in the offshore oil and gas industry has revealed plans to expand its operations and workforce after receiving a cash injection.

Subsea technology and engineering firm Ennsub is headquartered in Aberdeen but also has extensive operations in Cheltenham, a news source could reveal.

The investment of up to £1.5m from the Scottish Loan Fund (SLF) will provide a significant boost to Ennsub, which is run by directors Scott MacKnocher and Paul Lavelle, allowing it to continue to develop its engineering design capability. The funding will also enable the business to expand its assembly capacity and workforce to help support its growth ambitions.

Managing director MacKnocher said: "We are very pleased to have secured this funding package aimed at supporting Ennsub through its next stage of growth and one which allows us to capitalise on the foundations we have laid over the past two years, particularly in terms of developing industry-leading technologies which meet the needs of our customers.

"We are confident that the subsea industry as a whole is moving into a phase where innovation and efficiency are key drivers and such an environment is one in which Ennsub can thrive."
