Work starts on regeneration of Dartington area in Devon
Work has officially started on a regeneration scheme targeting the Dartington area in Devon, a recent news report in the local media was able to find.
The former Dartington Sawmills site will now be redeveloped into 93 new homes and an employment hub with the capacity to support 180 jobs. The first home on site are expected to be completed by summer 2015.
Cavanna Homes has started building 63 dwellings for the first phase of the project at Sawmills Field. The second phase, which has outline planning permission, will see Webbers Yard and Higher Tweed Mill regenerated to provide a further 30 homes.
Ian Pugsley, head of planning at Cavanna Homes, said: "It is fantastic to see the development start to take shape. We are very pleased to have been a part of such a locally-focused project that we hope will truly benefit the area."
